چکیده

A multiphase extension of the δ-plus-SPH (smoothed particle hydrodynamics) model is developed for modeling non-Newtonian flow. modified numerical diffusive term and special shifting treatment near phase interface are introduced to original improve accuracy stability weakly incompressible SPH model. The Herschel–Bulkley used describe fluids. sub-particle added in momentum equation based on a large eddy simulation. graphic processing unit (GPU) acceleration technique applied increase computational efficiency. Three test cases including, static tank, Poiseuille flow, submarine debris presented assess performance new Comparisons with analytical solutions, experimental data, previous results indicate that proposed can capture highly transient two-phase flows consistent pressure across interface.

Numerical Simulation of Non-Newtonian Inelastic Flows in Channel based on Artificial Compressibility Method

In this study, inelastic constitutive modelling is considered for the simulation of shear-thinning fluids through a circular channel. Numerical solutions are presented for power-law inelastic model, considering axisymmetric Poiseuille flow through a channel. The numerical simulation of such fluid is performed by using the Galerkin finite element approach based on artificial compression method (...

Incompressible Non-Newtonian Fluid Flows

A non-Newtonian fluid is a fluid whose flow properties differ in many ways from those of Newtonian fluids. Most commonly the viscosity of non-Newtonian fluids is not independent of shear rate or shear rate history. In practice, many fluid materials exhibits non-Newtonian fluid behavior such as: salt solutions, molten, ketchup, custard, toothpaste, starch suspensions, paint, blood, and shampoo e...

Fast GPU-Based Fluid Simulations Using SPH

Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) are massive floatingpoint stream processors, and through the recent development of tools such as CUDA and OpenCL it has become possible to fully utilize them for scientific computing. We have developed an open-source CUDA-based acceleration framework for 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). This paper describes the ...

Modeling multiphase non-Newtonian polymer flow in IPARS parallel framework

Abstract. With the depletion of oil reserves and increase in oil price, the enhanced oil recovery methods such as polymer flooding to increase oil production from waterflooded fields are becoming more attractive. Effective design of these processes is challenging because the polymer chemistry has a strong effect on reaction and fluid rheology, which in turn has s strong effect on fluid transpor...
